Schottky Diodes in Surface Mount Package DPak (TO-252)

IXYS Corporation announced today the extension of its Surface Mount Device (SMD) Power Schottky diode portfolio in DPak (TO-252). Standard delivery mode for these DPak devices is tape and reel. Tube is available on request.

In expanding the product offerings to lower power applications, IXYS introduced six new Schottky diodes of the 2nd generation in TO-252 (DPak). The portfolio expansion includes five new single diodes ranging from 10 to 15A and 30 to 200V. Additionally, a 10-Amp common-cathode configuration with 100 Volts is offered as a compact solution for secondary output rectification for a wide range of battery charger products, bypass diode circuits and protection and clamping applications.

“These latest additions to our Schottky discrete family will give our customers more flexibility in choosing the right package option to address space and weight savings in their designs,” states Dr. Elmar Wisotzki, Director of Technology for IXYS Germany. “The DPak SMD package provides optimized footprint in an industry standard outline and will allow the designer to create circuits with the highest power densities.”

The following new products are available for order: DSB15IM30UC, D2-PakHV, single Schottky, 15A / 30V; DSA15IM45UC, D2-PakHV, single Schottky, 15A / 45V; DSA10IM100UC, D2-PakHV, single Schottky, 10A / 100V; DSA10C150UC, D2-PakHV, common-cathode Schottky, 2x 5A / 150V; DSA15IM150UC, D2-PakHV, single Schottky, 15A / 150V; and DSA15IM200UC, D2-PakHV, single Schottky, 15A / 200V.

The present Schottky diode portfolio offered by IXYS provides nine voltage classes from 8 volts up to 200 volts with three different Schottky contact technologies, yielding the highest performance in forward voltage drop, reverse leakage losses and robustness for many different applications. The current range spans from 5 amps up to 300 amps performed with single die solutions to guarantee highest quality and excellent reliability. The package portfolio contains the SMD DPak (TO-252), D2-Pak (TO-263) and D3-Pak (TO-268) as well as the standard through-hole-technology cases, TO-220 and TO-247.

For high current and high power solutions, IXYS also offers its latest ISOPLUS technology, the ISO247, which is mechanically identical to a TO-247, and the well proven SOT-227B (minibloc) allowing up to 300A for a single Schottky diode device.
