Schaefer Intros New C3700 Series Power Converters
Schaefer Inc. (Ashland, MA) introduced its new C3700 Series of 1,250W, 6U high, VME/Eurorack/wall-mount compatible dc/dc and ac/dc converters. Applications include locomotive controls and communications equipment, fuel cell conversion and testing, battery charging, telecommunications systems, process control systems, power stations, and automotive bus equipment testing.
The C3700 Series is available in nine standard dc input-voltage ranges from 10Vdc to 800Vdc, as well as ac input-voltage ranges of 185Vac to 264Vac and 93Vac to 138Vac (switchable). Units can be supplied with an external power-factor correction module. Single outputs are available in numerous ranges from 4.5Vdc to 800Vdc. All outputs are adjustable and fully regulated to 0.2 percent or better (load) and 0.1 percent (line).
The units are packaged in a 6U x 28TE x 226mm Eurorack module and incorporate DIN 41612 H15 I/O connectors. Options available include decoupling diodes for parallel operation, ruggedization, tropical protection, inhibit, power fail/dc-ok, active current sharing, and programmable and wall mounting.
The C3700 Series is priced from $990 each at 100 pieces. Significant OEM discounts are available. Delivery is six to eight weeks ARO.
