Pulse Unveils PG0155 Series SMT Inductors

April 20, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Pulse Engineering Inc. (San Diego, CA) introduced its new PG0155 Series of low-profile, surface-mount (SMT) inductors for high-power applications. A compact footprint of 11 mm x 10.4 mm (maximum), a low profile of 3.7 mm (maximum), and an operating temperature range of up to 150 °C make this product series suitable for notebook computer CPUs, voltage regulator modules, point-of-load systems, distributed power architectures, dc-dc converters, high-speed servers and workstations, telecom switching networks, routers, and base station equipment.

A flat wire coil provides higher current ratings in a low-profile package. The series incorporates self-terminating lead technology to increase reliability and reduce cost. The PG0155 inductors have a current rating up to 24 A with an inductance range of 0.30 µH to 2.30 µH. The dc resistance range is from 2.2 milliohms to 16.5 milliohms.

Parts in this series are available in tape-and-reel packaging, with prices averaging $0.30 per unit for quantities above 100,000 units. RoHS compliant parts are available upon request. Individual part pricing may vary due to volume, configuration and shipping destination. Contact Pulse directly for volume pricing and samples.
