Power Electronics Releases New Version Of Sinusoidal Motor Efficiency Controller

July 06, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Power Electronics Systems (2006) Ltd. announced the availability of the SinuMEC Version 3. This new version of the Sinusoidal Motor Efficiency Controller uses the patented sinusoidal technology to add additional improvements that increase the efficiency of variable load motors running at constant speeds.

The SinuMEC V3 includes better motor start-up, an additional voltage level for voltage control, and improved motor efficiency. The motor start-up in V3 includes the ability to efficiently start heavy duty industrial motors, now making efficient start up for all motor types available with SinuMEC. An additional voltage level control in the V3 doubles the maximum voltage reduction resulting in greater possible savings on lightly loaded motors. The SinuMEC V3 supports an inside the delta connection allowing a smaller SinuMEC unit to be installed on larger motors for a cost effective solution.

"The V3 version of SinuMEC was developed from years of experience and installations around the world," stated Shimon Limor, CTO of Power Electronics, "with thorough research and understanding of the SinuMEC installed base, we have been able to release an improved version of the SinuMEC with features that further increase the savings and efficiency of motors in industry."

The SinuMEC V3 is available from today with orders already being taken for scheduled production. SinuMEC systems can be applied to industrial equipment in manufacturing plants, mines and quarries and process industry and are available in a range of 7.5kW/10HP to 150kW/200HP. The SinuMEC has been successfully installed in conveyors, bucket elevators, mills, presses, crushers, flakers, grinders and granulators.
