BI Technologies Offers HM70 Series Shielded Inductors

New Products Sep 06, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

The Magnetic Components Division of BI Technologies (Fullerton, CA), a subsidiary of TT electronics plc (Patterson, NJ), developed a series of high-current, low-profile power inductors, the HM70 Series, that are rated for operation to 180 °C. The surface-mount devices provide design engineers with a compact inductor that is suitable for high-temperature applications where personal computer board space is at a premium.

The HM70 Series inductors are also suitable for underhood automotive and server/router applications that must operate in high-temperature environments. Additionally the HM70 family is suited for compact voltage regulator module and dc-dc converter modules. The HM70 Series inductors feature typical inductance values from 0.70 µH to 2.10 µH (±20 percent, measured at 100 kHz), with dc resistance values from 1.05 mΩ to 4.71 mΩ. Rated current ranges from 12 Adc to 34 Adc at 25 °C.

The HM70 Series inductors are available in seven package sizes ranging from 9 mm x 10.5 mm to 13.5 mm x 12.9 mm, with a board-mounted profile that ranges from 3.7 mm x 5.50 mm. Pricing for the HM70 Series is $0.67 each in quantities of 10,000, with delivery from stock to 10 weeks.
