MTI MicroFuel Cells Inc. (MTI, Albany, NY), a subsidiary Mechanical Technology Inc. (Albany, NY) and a developer of micro fuel cell technology for hand-held electronic devices, announced that President and Chief Operating Officer Alan Soucy has resigned from his position. Soucy will become a consultant to the company for 18 months, and his new title will be Chief Corporate Strategist for Mechanical Technology. Chief Executive Officer Bill Acker will assume Soucy's responsibilities.
Soucy was expected to head the new Silicon Valley operation and be responsible for sales and marketing, business development, lead the process of developing markets, alliances, distribution, and channel partners for MTI Micro's products. Soucy's background included several years as general manager of Philips Mobile Computing Group, the portable digital products division of Philips Electronics.
