Honda Motor Co. (Japan) plans to introduce a hybrid gasoline-electric version of its Civic model on the market by March 2002. The company hopes to triple its US sales of hybrid vehicles, which are burgeoning in the US.
Sales of the Honda Insight in May 2001 were up 138 percent as compared to May 2000. The company sold 903 Insights, breaking the previous record of 573 Insights sold in a single month, set in April.
