August 01, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

Gowanda Electronics, a business unit of Gowanda Components Group (GCG), announced that its capabilities for the design and manufacture of inductors and other passive components are expanding in connection with its parent company's acquisition of Butler Winding in Butler, Pennsylvania. This is the fourth acquisition for GCG within the last five years.

GCG CEO Don McElheny stated, “Butler’s products and capabilities complement Gowanda’s and give us the opportunity to enhance and grow our high performance inductor offerings in the global marketplace. The synergy in our designs and applications will enable us to provide a broader range of innovative passive component solutions to design engineers in commercial, medical, microwave, military, space and other markets around the world.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but it is anticipated that the company will relocate from Butler, Pennsylvania, to GCG’s facilities in Arcade, New York, in the near future.
