July 31, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

General Motors Corp. (Detroit, MI) dedicated a new research facility in Honeoye Falls, NY, which will employ about 100 engineers, in addition to the 200 that have been working in an existing nearby lab since 1998. Other GM fuel cell research facilities are located in Warren, MI, and in Mainz-Kastel, Germany. GM plans to market stationary fuel cell power units used to generate electricity for homes or businesses by the end of 2005.
