Again this year, the Japan Management Association will host "Techno Frontier" Japan's power electronics exhibition and conference. Darnell's PowerPulse.net will be the exclusive English-language publication providing editorial coverage. This international event will be held next week at Makuhari Messe (Chiba-shi, Chiba) from May 20 to 22. This year, Techno Frontier has relocated from Tokyo Big Sight and has expanded to 500 exhibitors, about 120 more than last year including over 100 exhibiting for the first time in Japan. About 30,000 delegates are expected to attend.

In the area of power semiconductors, Techno Frontier has strengthened the number of exhibits featuring SiC and GaN, and the application of these and other new semiconductor devices in power conversion systems. In field of power supplies demonstrations will feature wireless power, USB powering and dc power architectures. This is a comprehensive trade show featuring EMC, Power Conversion, Batteries, Wireless Power, Energy Harvesting, Thermal Engineering, 3D Printing, Sensing, Embedded Computing, and other power-related technologies.

Over 100 exhibitors will feature the latest developments in motors and motion control. Thursday, May 21 has been designated "IoT Day." The emerging Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to be used to connect “everything” and offer opportunities for increased value added. Techno Frontier will focus on the prospects to “Industry 4.1” in the up-and-coming "IoT" battle front - Japan.

Friday, May 22 "Wireless Feeding Technology Dat." Exhibitors and conference papers will introduce the latest trends and technology developments including the latest news in the area of standardization to attract attention of wireless feeding that practical use advances from smart phones to cars.

Throughout the exhibit time, Techno Frontier has set aside a special “Robotics advanced technical corner.” Under the theme of "autonomy control" and "symbiosis with person," exhibitors perform demonstration with various robots which advanced techniques and will include special invited lectures on the exhibit floor. The admission cost for Techno Frontier is 3,000 yen at the door, with free admission offered for early registration.
