Vishay Intros New GCDA15C-1 Protection Diode Array

July 29, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced a new low-capacitance, bi-directional, ESD protection diode array in the SOT-143 SMD package for high-volume, mainstream applications. The new GCDA15C-1 diode array is designed to provide cost-effective ESD protection in ADSL, RS-232, RS-422 and V.90 interfaces; high-speed data lines; WAN/LAN equipment; and wireless systems.

Rated for an operating voltage of 15 V, the GCDA15C-1 offers electrical performance with typical capacitance of 5 pF, a maximum reverse leakage current of 100 µA, and a maximum clamping voltage value of 21 V. The new diode array also features ESD protection that meets IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 specifications. With compact dimensions of 1.25 mm x 2.85 mm x 1.1 mm, the GCDA15C device allows space savings and simplified board layouts. High-temperature soldering is guaranteed to 260 °C/10 sec at terminals, and the device operating temperature range is -40 °C to +125 °C.

Samples and production quantities of the GCDA15C-1 ESD protection diode array are available now in tape-and-reel packaging with lead times of six to eight weeks for larger orders. Pricing for US delivery in 100,000-piece quantities starts at $30 per 100 pieces.
