Vishay Introduces New Inductors, Capacitors, and Rectifiers
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has released new low-profile, high-current inductors, new solid tantalum chip capacitors, and new Ultrafast rectifiers.
The new Vishay Dale IHLP-2525CZ-11 inductors are specified for saturation currents ranging from 2.5 A to 9.5 A, typical DCR values ranging from 7.6 milliohms to 128.9 milliohms, and maximum DCR values ranging from 8.0 milliohms to 135.0 milliohms. They feature dimensions of 0.255 in. by 0.270 in. with a height profile of 0.118 in. The inductors serve as solutions for voltage regulator module (VRM) and dc-to-dc converter applications in end products including mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, servers, graphic cards, portable gaming devices, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, and automotive systems; low-profile, high-current power supplies and point of load (POL) converters; distributed power systems; and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
The new Vishay Sprague T83 solid tantalum chip capacitors have a capacitance range of 0.1 microfarads to 330 microfarads and voltage range from 4V to 35V. This capacitance/voltage range represents 40% more values than existing equivalent military offerings. The option of low ESR values, which extend down to 0.1 ohm at +25 °C and 100 kHz, allows for more efficient filtering in critical dc-to-dc conversion applications, while the T83's high ripple current handling capability is key for ensuring stable output voltages. The Hi-Rel COTS T83 capacitors are designed for a variety of avionics and military systems such as radar, missiles, and other weapons systems. The molded-case capacitors are available in five case codes, sizes A through E, per EIA-535BAAC.
The new Vishay 8-A, 600-V UH8JT and UHF8JT single high-voltage Ultrafast rectifiers deliver a reverse recovery time of 25 ns. This improved switching performance combines with a forward recovery time of 150 ns under LEM test conditions (IF = 8 A, di/dt = 64 A/microsecond, VF = 1.1 x VF max), and a low forward voltage drop rating of 1.85 V at 125 °C, to enable better thermal performance and better system efficiency. Built using planar chip junction technology, the UH8JT and UHF8JT will be used for a range of power supply applications, including high-voltage continuous-current-mode power factor correction (CCM PFC) systems in consumer and computer products; high-voltage output switchmode power supplies; secondary dc-to-dc rectification applications; and freewheeling diode applications.
