Tyco Announces Re-rating of RXE PolySwitch Resettable Fuses

May 20, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Tyco Electronics Corp. announced that its RXE line of PolySwitch resettable fuses has been re-rated from 60V to 72V. The polymeric positive temperature coefficient devices, available in a range of hold currents from 200mA to 3.75A, now provide 72V maximum input protection in accordance with UL requirements. The RXE Series resettable fuses are suitable for use in protecting equipment from downstream short-circuits, over-voltages and other power faults.

“The re-rating of the RXE product line is a direct result of changes in customer needs and our desire to meet and exceed those requirements,” said Lisa Leo, telecommunications market manager for Tyco’s Raychem Circuit Protection division. “The new RXE products meet current customer requirements by providing high current-carrying capacity and fast trip times in a compact package.”

The RXE Series devices are currently available in straight-lead or kinked-lead configurations and are supplied in tape-and-reel packaging for compatibility with high-volume assembly equipment. The UL, CSA and TUV certifications are pending. Delivery is in four to six weeks.
