Signal Amplifiers with 0.2% Full Scale Accuracy
Knick USA announced the North American debut of its BasicLine, a family of low-cost signal amplifiers and isolators. The Knick USA BasicLine offers system integrators, control panel builders, automation and process control engineers with a unique array of standard features found mostly only with higher end signal isolation devices, including: high-integrity measurement signal transmission; adjustable range offset; accuracies as high as 0.2% to 0.3% FS, (depending upon selected model); and 480 pre-calibrated switchable ranges without need for readjustment.
Another unique feature of BasicLine is its actual working voltage specifications, making the Series true 3-way isolators. This presents a real performance advantage over other lower cost industry signal conversion devices, which are typically 2-way or non-isolated. This 3-port isolation further protects the Series against measurement errors and damage, whilst creating an unmatched price-to-performance ratio.
The Series also offers universal dc voltage and current measurements, with individually adjustable voltage ranges of 20mV to 200V, and choice of either 24Vdc or 100- to 230-Vac power supply. Current values of <100mA may be measured directly. Higher currents are supported via an external shunt resistor, also available from Knick USA. The full BasicLine series is available in eight models, each tailored for a given measurement type.
These include: BL 541/542 loop powered isolator for standard signals, with no external power source requirements. BL 530 load and signal doubler with two galvanically isolated current outputs, each of which can drive a load of either 400 or 800 ohms, when connected in-series; BL 520 flexible temperature transmitter with selectable range, measuring temperature via standard platinum sensors and thermocouples; BL 550 set-point alarm relay with changeover output, monitoring contacts and control process variables with maximum reliability; BL 570 standard signal isolator with more than 400 factory pre-calibrated ranges, as well as individually adjustable ranges between ±20mV and ±200Vdc; BL 513 mains-powered signal isolator with optimal signal transmission quality and speed; BL 510 compact signal isolator with galvanic isolation, 0- to 20-mA input and signal conversion, as well as repeater power supply; And the BL 560 repeater power supply, featuring a slim 6-mm housing. The BL 560 is used in safe areas for supplying 2-wire sensors with signal decoupling, along with 4- to 20-mA input and supply voltage.
All BasicLine series units both CE compliant and UL approved. They are also available for delivery within four weeks from stock and are accompanied by a three-year comprehensive product line warranty.
