November 11, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Royal Philips Electronics (Eindhoven, the Netherlands) announced that it now offers an extensive range of small logic packages that enhance the miniaturization capabilities of circuit boards in the semiconductor industry. The logic devices are suitable for communications, computing, consumer electronics, portable devices, automotive and military machinery applications that require a high temperature range (-40 to +125 degrees C).

The logic packages are currently available for Philips' high-speed CMOS (HC/T), advanced high-speed CMOS (AHC/T), low-voltage CMOS (LVC), and advanced low-voltage CMOS (AUC) logic families. All the products are second sourced and compatible with offerings from other companies. The portfolio of packages includes the SOT353 and SOT753 (five pins), the SOT363 and SOT457 (six pins), and the SOT765 and SOT505-2 (eight pins).

The SOT353, SOT753 and SOT505-2 packages are available now in volume production. The SOT363, SOT457 and SOT765 packages are currently sampling with volume production beginning in the first quarter of 2003.
