OutBack Power Systems Introduces FLEXware Balance-Of-System Components

New Products Jun 27, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

OutBack Power Systems, Inc. announced a new line of balance-of-system components: FLEXware. Representing a leap in system integration technology, FLEXware enables installation of OutBack Power Systems' power electronics at a greater level of code-compliance, speed and aesthetics than ever before.

Utilizing FLEXware along with OutBack's modular power electronics, a greater variety of power needs can now be satisfied. FLEXware 250 offers a solution for ac and dc disconnects in single inverter/charger installations when space and budget are primary concerns. FLEXware 500 supports up to two inverter/chargers and two charge controllers in an attractive, versatile and code-compliant package when split-phase and/or higher power output is needed. FLEXware 1000 accommodates up to four inverter/chargers and four charge controllers. Both FLEXware 500 and FLEXware 1000 provide locations for auto-transformers, multiple dc shunts and other components required in higher kW systems.

The FLEXware MP mounting plate shows the versatility of FLEXware with its compatibility across the entire product line. All the FLEXware options and accessories have been redesigned and simplified, replacing multiple models with fewer universal models. FLEXware can be used with existing OutBack Power Systems components for those wishing to expand their systems and will be available for general sale in the third quarter of this year.

OutBack Power Systems is making its initial product introductions in June at the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in Custer, Wisconsin, USA and at Intersolar 2006 in Freiberg, Germany.
