Microsemi Intros LX3055 InGaAs/InP PIN Photo Diodes

August 03, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Microsemi Corp. (Irvine, CA), a manufacturer of discrete semiconductors and power management integrated circuits, announced

its new LX3055™ advanced co-planar waveguide photo diode for high bandwidth, single-mode-fiber optical networking applications. The LX3055 InGaAs/InP PIN photo diodes are suitable for high bandwidth 1310 and 1550 nanometer optical networks. Applications include optical receivers, transponders, optical transmission modules and combination PIN photo diode-transimpedance amplifiers.

The LX3055 photo diode features large wire bond contact pads for more reliable assembly, high responsivity, low dark current, and high bandwidth for high performance and high sensitivity receiver designs. Priced at $3.33 in 10,000-unit quantities, the LX3055 is available for immediate sampling and volume delivery.
