MGE UPS Intros ESV+ and EX Series

April 25, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

MGE UPS Systems (Costa Mesa, CA) introduced a new line of Pulsar ESV+ rack-mount uninterruptible power supplies and also announced rack-mount versions of its Pulsar EX units. The new Pulsar ESV8+, ESV11+ and ESV14+ are 3U in height, and the ESV22+ is 4U in height. The line-interactive UPSs provide up to 45 minutes of runtime protection as well as voltage regulation during high and low events for optimum computer performance without depleting the battery. The UPSs also feature smart battery management; front access, user-replaceable, hot-swappable batteries; and configurable operating parameters and MGE's exclusive PowerShare function. The new rackmount Pulsar EX SP1000VA and 1500VA rack models measure 2U in height, and the 2000VA and 3000VA measure 3U in height. The EX UPS units offer optional long duration batteries and full-time voltage regulation. Features include on-line double conversion technology and input power factor correction. Both the ESV+ and EX Series are available with MGE's Solution-Pac software; an expansion slot for optional SNMP or status card; adjustable rack rails and mounting hardware; and TCP/IP-based power management software. The units are available now in limited quantities.
