Magic Power Introduces Isolated 2 x 4" 60W Triple-Output Chassis Mount DC-DC Converter

Magic Power Technology Inc. introduced the MPD-F06B, a compact 2 x 4" 60W dc-dc open frame power supply. This convection-cooled device is compliant with standard 1U applications.

The MPD-F06B has three outputs (+5, +12, -12V) and a wide dc input range from 10 to 36Vdc. The small size of MPD-F06B is said to allow for greater flexibility in overall system design, as it does not need to be located adjacent to a system fan and has no need for a dedicated cooling fan. This allows for low noise and a higher MTBF. MPD-F06B is rated at +50°C with linear derating to 50% capacity at +70°C.

The reduced PCB board size increases the device power density, which is calculated to be 5.3W per cubic inch. In addition, no minimum load is required for the unit to start up and maintain stated specifications. The MPD-F06B has Class II construction with double isolation and requires no GND protection. Its output terminal appliance has Molex type pitch power connector, and comes with standard protection mechanisms in cases of over voltage, overload, or short circuit.

The MPD-F06B is CE-marked and is designed to meet the following standards: UL 60950-1 and IEC 60950-1. The MPD-F06B is well suited for use in IT and industrial applications.
