May 31, 1999 by Jeff Shepard

ITW Paktron (Lynchburg, WV) is offering its Capstick Series high frequency switching power supply capacitors in high-temperature polymer shells with flat-top surfaces. The new capacitor is ideal for 48V bus input and output. It has a low impedance (ESR/ESL) construction and is self healing to avoid shorts. It is made for 1000KHz switching power trains and reflected RFI. The flat surface allows it to be picked and placed. The operating temperature range is -55 to +125 degrees C. Prices start at $1.40 each in large quantities.
