IR Intros INT-A-Pak Rectifier-IGBT Modules

September 18, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

International Rectifier Corp. (IR, El Segundo, CA) introduced its new INT-A-Pak (IAP) rectifier-switch family of 150A and 250A isolated modules, which are optimized for high-current, industrial, switch-mode power supplies such as the output-inverter stage for high-quality, tungsten-inert-gas welding machines and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

The IAP modules are made with insulated gate bi-polar transistor (IGBT) switches with or without free-wheeling diodes combined into a single INT-A-Pak module package. The GA100TS60SQ is a fully insulated half-bridge module made with standard-speed IGBTs with a low forward-voltage drop of 1.11V at 100A, and fast-reverse recovery QuietIR free-wheeling diodes. The GA200HS60S is similar to the GA100TS60SQ, without freewheeling diodes and rated at 250A. Each switch is made with two standard-speed IGBTs with a forward-voltage drop of 1.19V at 200A in parallel.

The new devices are available immediately. Pricing for the GA100TS60SQ is $35.86 each, and the GA200HS60S is $42.66 each in 100-unit quantities.
