IR Introduces GBL and GBU Series Bridge Rectifiers
International Rectifier Corp. (IR, El Segundo, CA) introduced the GBL and GBU Series bridge rectifiers for general use in industrial and consumer electronics equipment, such as power supplies and portable electronics. The GBL and GBU bridge rectifiers are rated for 50 to 1,200V. The GBL Series devices are rated at 4A, while the GBU Series devices are rated at 4, 8 or 6A. The new bridge rectifiers are made with four glass-passivated silicon junctions assembled on copper lead-frames, and encapsulated in a four-pin, single in-line package (SIP).
The new bridge rectifiers are UL-certified under class 94V-0 for inflammability. They are compatible with eutectic (below 245 degrees C) or high-temperature (260 degrees C) soldering methods. The GBL bridges have straight leads, and are suitable for printed circuit board or point-to-point wiring. The GBU bridges have a mounting hole in the center of the package.
According to Vito Bellino, technical marketing manager, “The GBL and GBU bridges are made for high-volume manufacturing methods. The package and lead configurations provide mounting flexibility."
Samples of the GBL and GBU Series bridge rectifiers are available immediately. Pricing begins at $0.38 each in 25,000-unit quantities.
