Intersil Intros ISL6310 and ISL6308 PWM Controllers
Intersil Corp. (Milpitas, CA) announced its new two-phase ISL6310 and three-phase ISL6308 pulse-width modulation (PWM) controllers with high-current, integrated metal-oxide, silicon field-effect transistor (MOSFET) drivers and system accuracy. Target applications include computer motherboards; workstations, servers, and industrial PCs; high-current DDR/chipset power; network-attached storage/storage-area network systems; datacommunications/telecommunications systems; routers and switches; high-current field-programmable gate array power supplies; and high-current, low-voltage point-of-load modules.
The new two-phase ISL6310 and three-phase ISL6308 PWM controllers feature one-phase, two-phase, or three-phase operation; 5 V to 12 V programmable FET gate drive voltage; 0.5 percent/0.8 percent system accuracy over temperature; adjustable reference voltage offset, channel-to-channel current sharing through lower FET rDS(on); over-current and over-voltage protection; and adjustable switching frequency of up to 1.5 MHz/phase.
The ISL6310 is available now in a 32-lead QFN standard or lead-free package, which is priced at $1.80. The ISL6308 is available now in a 40-lead QFN standard or lead-free package, which is priced at $2.25. Both prices are for 1,000-unit quantities.
