HiTek Power Adds TEK 200 Series PFC SMPS

August 11, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

HiTek Power Corp. (Santee, CA) introduced a new family of low-voltage, power-factor-corrected (PFC), switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) that provide output power up to 200W and active PFC to 0.99. The new TEK 200 Series power supplies are suitable as a component in OEM systems, with a low profile of 1.5in (38mm) high, and availability in either open-frame or partially enclosed configurations.

The TEK 200 Series include a universal ac input, and the series' five models offer single output voltages of 3V to 4V, 5V to 6V, 12V to 16V, 24V to 30V or 36V to 56V. Regulation is ±1%, and ripple and noise are better than 50mV for the two lower-voltage models; ±1% for the three higher-rated models. The power supplies' transient response ensures that the output voltage returns to within 1% in less than 500µs for a 50% load change, with the peak not exceeding 5%. Other features include remote on/off, and over-current, short-circuit, over-voltage and over-temperature protection. The new series meets UL, cUL, TUV and CE safety specifications; and FCC and CISPR Class B emissions standards.

TEK 200 PFC power supplies are priced starting at $100 in production quantities, and come with a one-year warranty. Availability is stock to eight weeks.
