High-Current Inductors with Saturation Current up to 95A

Codaca Electronics has launched a new 2272 case size, high-current inductor CPEX2272 series, having a high saturation current and loading capability and efficiency flat wire high power inductor.

This series use an ultra-low magnetic loss ferrite core, its unique core design featuring even air gap spacing allows it to have high resistance ratio, low hysteresis loss and low eddy current loss. This design not only can effectively suppress the noise, but its excellent dc bias current characteristics are a highlight of this series.

For normal ferrite inductor, the saturation flux density will decrease at high temperature and has a fast saturation characteristic. If the rated current value is exceeded, the overall performance of the inductor may be affected, which may affect the normal operation of the entire circuit.

The CPEX2722 is designed with an alloy magnetic powder core and has a soft saturation characteristic to withstand higher current values. Since temperature has little impact to its electrical properties, the product can work stably for a long time in high frequency and high temperature environments.

Since the core loss of CPEX2722 is much lower than ferrite core and there is no temperature aging effect, together with its low-resistance flat wire design to minimize the power consumption of the product. Therefore, it is especially suitable for new energy applications such as solar energy, wind energy and hybrid electric vehicles.

The CPEX2722 is designed as a best space- and power-saving solution for voltage regulator module (VRM) and dc-to-dc converter applications like point of load (POL) converters; distributed power systems; and energy saving device. It also applicable to high current boost converter topologies. With its ability to work at high frequency it can help to lower the inductance needed thus reduce direct current loss and core loss.

This series is well suited to high frequency and high temperature operation. Its rigid assemblage design meets all environmental requirements like RoHS, Reach and Halogen free. The CPEX2722 series is specified for an operating temperature range of –55°C to +150°C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.
