Eighth-Brick IBCs feature Digital Control and PMBus

December 21, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

Delta Electronics, Inc. has introduced 240- to 360-W standard eighth brick intermediate bus converters (IBCs). The E48SC series, isolated dc-dc converters, support a wide input voltage of 36- to 75-Vdc and output voltage of 12V, available in 3 power ratings 240W, 300W and 360W. There is a built-in digital pwm controller in the converter, which is used to support output voltage feedback, pwm signal generation, fault protection, output voltage trim, on/off control and PMBus communications, and so on.

With the digital control, many design and application flexibility, advanced performance, and reliability are obtained. With optimized component placement and innovative design topologies, E48SC series delivers not only outstanding electrical and thermal performance but possesses industry leading efficiencies which translate into more board space at less cost for our customer’s space constrained and cost-sensitive applications.

The E48SC series comes complete with a host of industry-standard features to insure that this unit will reliably perform in the harshest environments of telecom applications. All modules are fully protected against abnormal input/output voltage, current, and temperature conditions. Optional heatsink is also available for more extreme thermal requirements.

Safety certifications include UL 60950-1 & CSA C22.2 No.60950-1-07 be recognized. Key features and benefits include: PMBus communications protocol (optional); Wide 2:1 input range (36- to 75-Vdc); Dimensions of 58.4x22.8x11 mm (eighth brick); Fixed-frequency operation; and no minimum load requirement. Standard lead-time for this product is from stock to 8 weeks, depending on output and volume.
