BEI Edcliff Intros New 6-10 Pressure Transducer

December 26, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

BEI Edcliff Instruments Division (Sylmar, CA) announced its new model 6-10 general-purpose pressure transducer, which handles a wide pressure range and features an explosion-proof rating. The device offers over 20 pressure range capabilities from 0psi to 3psi, all the way to 0psi to 10,000psi, and is explosion-proof rated for FM, CSA, and CENELEC standards in all Class 1, Division 1, hazardous areas.

The pressure transducer comes with a variety of voltage-output signal choices ranging from 0.05V to 5Vdc, to 1Vdc to 11Vdc. Manufactured with a MEMS pressure-sensing die isolated by a stainless steel diaphragm, it is capable of withstanding high-bending stresses caused by shock, vibration and mounting with very minimal hysteresis. This provides high linearity and increased long-term stability and reliability. It exhibits accuracy down to ±0.25 percent and long-term drift <±0.5 percent FSO for one year.

Other features include an operating temperature range of –40 to +120 degrees C; proof pressures greater than twice the rated pressure; and EMI/RFI protection that eliminates shift, drift or failure problems in EMI/RFI environments of up to 10V/m up to 1GHz. With hermetically sealed, all-welded 316L stainless steel construction, the unit conforms to NEMA 4 and 4X enclosure requirements.

The 6-10 pressure transducer comes with a selection of electrical connections and pressure fittings for maximum installation flexibility. Custom configurations are also available to meet application-specific requirements.
