Analog Devices Offers AD727x Family of Converters
Analog Devices Inc. (ADI, Wilmington, MA) introduced 10 new serial analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) that bring ultra-compact packaging technology to the high-speed, high-accuracy world of medical instrumentation, data acquisition equipment, optical communications and automotive systems.
Featuring a 3 MSPS throughput rate, low power dissipation (8 mW) and 1 LSB INL - all in a 3 mm x 3 mm, thin small-outline-transistor package - the AD727x family is claimed to be twice as accurate and 40% smaller than competing devices, while enabling faster loop settling time.
The AD727x family is sampling now and will be in full production in March 2005. The AD7274 is $6.50, the AD7276 is $6.25, the AD7277 is $3.60, the AD7273 is $3.75, and the AD7278 is $1.85, and are priced per unit in 1,000-piece quantities.
