Anadigics Intros AWT6166 and AWT6167 GSM/GPRS PAs

Anadigics Inc. (Warren, NJ) announced a new family of 6 mm x 6 mm, GSM/GPRS InGaP HBT power amplifiers (PAs), the AWT6166 and AWT6167, which use a pin-out, RF engine and power control scheme that are compatible with the company’s current generation of 7 mm x 7 mm GSM PAs.

The AWT6166 PA is suitable for dual-, tri-, and quad-band applications; has 58% efficiency for GSM900; has 53% efficiency for DCS; permits 25% reduction in space requirement compared with previous generation; maintains low current consumption even under poor antenna mismatch conditions; has an internally generated reference regulated voltage supply; and is generational-compatible with ANADIGICS’ 7 mm x 7 mm GSM/GPRS PAs.

The AWT6166 PA is priced at $3.20 in quantities of 10,000 units. The AWT6167 PA is priced at $3.10 in quantities of 10,000 units.
