AC Common Mode Choke

New Products Jul 10, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

Sumida has developed an ac common mode choke coil, the LF2420B for use in consumer electronics applications such as TVs, video players or printers to reduce the occurrence of noise. The DCR of LF2420B is lower than our existing product LF2420. This product mainly prevents common mode noise. It also prevents normal mode noise by allocating magnetic material between coils.

The DCR is 510 mΩ (maximum at 20 degrees C). The LF2420B has an inductance of 15.5mH (minimum, at 40Hz, 1V) and an inrush-current rating of 30A aat 135Vac (2ms W/pulse). These devices have a high-pot rating of 2000Vrms (2mA 50/60Hz for 60 seconds). The rated current is 1A and the insulation resistance is 100 MΩ (minimum).

Key features include: 26.0 x 26.0 x H 21.0 mm (maximum); Withstand voltage of 2kVac; Weight of 19g (approximate); Operating temperature range is -40 to +85 degrees C (Including coil's self-temperature rise). Applications are expected to include TVs, video players, printers, noise prevention in AV equipment.
