150A POLs Feature Two Digital Control Buses

Bellnix has added the 150A BDP series non-isolated point of load (POL) step-down dc-dc converters. These dc-dc converters include digital control (PMBus) to change settings such as output voltage, turn-on sequence and turn-off sequence via serial communication during operation. Furthermore, the product is equipped with digital loop control that enables high output voltage accuracy.

These dc-dc converters include 2 digital communications buses. Converter settings can be changed and monitored during operation via serial communication (PMBus), and turn-on and turn-off sequences can be configured using PMBus commands. Current balance in parallel operation is achieved via serial communication using a dedicated communications bus.

The 150A BDP converters specifications include: Input voltage range of 8- to 14-Vdc;-Output voltage adjustable from 0.6- to 1.5-Vdc; maximum current of 150A; Operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C (full output current of 150A is available up to 60 degrees C with derating to 100A at 85 degrees C, with forced air flow of 2.0 m/s); and RoHS compliance. Features include: Output voltage accuracy ±0.5% maximum; Efficiency of 90%, typical; Small foot SMD print (28.2mm x 43.7mm), high power density; Low noise of 15mVp-p; Adjustable output voltage (via PMBus); and Parallel operation (via PMBus, derating required).
