Xicor Inc. (Milpitas, CA) announced that it has named Todd Smathers as senior vice president of operations, reporting to Xicor's President and CEO Lou DiNardo. Smathers will be responsible for all of the company's operations activities, including manufacturing, quality and reliability, product and test engineering, as well as material management, logistics and information technology.
Smathers brings 30 years of industry experience in engineering, operations and general management to Xicor. During his 18 years with Linear Technology Corp. (Milpitas, CA) he held a variety of senior management positions, including Director of Operations. Prior to his affiliation with Linear Technology, Smathers also served at National Semiconductor Corp. (Santa Clara, CA) where he assumed increasing levels of responsibility in engineering management for the linear products group.
DiNardo noted, "I am pleased to have Todd join the company. I've known him a long time and I am confident he will bring operational excellence to Xicor. I look forward to working with him to further develop and help execute Xicor's strategy. Todd will provide leadership and understanding in the analog mixed-signal area.
