Vestas Receives Large German Wind Turbine Order

Vestas Wind Systems A/S (Ringkøbing, Denmark) announced that it has received an order for 35 units of the V80 2.0MW wind turbines via its 100-percent-owned German subsidiary, Vestas Deutschland GmbH, for the German market. The order was placed by Gesellschaft für Handel und Finanz mbH GHF (Leer, Ostfriesland), and has a value of around mEUR 60. The turbines will be delivered during 2002-2003 and will be placed in wind farms located in Beeskow, Brandenburg and Sallgast, Saxony.

"We are very pleased to be selected as the supplier to such a professional wind turbine developer and operator as GHF, who has already installed more than 80 Vestas megawatt turbines," said Svend Sigaard, managing director of Vestas Wind Systems. "Our new facility in Lauchhammer, which was inaugurated in August 2002, is now ramping up production according to schedule and will supply the blades for this new order."
