Varistor Project Breaks Ground in Changzhou Park

The Administrative Committee of Changzhou New District (China) announced that one of the state's 863 projects for SMD varistors has broken ground in Changzhou Electronic Technology Park. The project is commenced by Changzhou Xinghan Science and Technology Co. Ltd., a new company jointly set up by Hai Lin Ke Science and Technology Co. Ltd., Changzhou Electronic Technology Park Development Co. Ltd. and Shanghai Yuntong Investment Management Co. Ltd.

With an investment of $11 million, the project is scheduled to commence production in October 2003, with an expected production value of $10 million. Changzhou Xinghan Science claims that the SMD varistor features transient suppression voltage, filter, anti-static and anti-electromagnetic interference. It is designed for use in mobile phones, laptops, PDAs and digital cameras.
