Sure Power Awarded US Patent

November 04, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

The US Patent Office has awarded Sure Power Corp. (Danbury, CT) a patent for its onsite power generation systems. The systems are capable of providing 99.9999 percent - or "six nines" - availability over 20 years, a less than one percent chance of failure.

"Our systems can operate indefinitely without any reliance on the existing utility grid because they utilize our unique version of redundant array of independent devices architecture and our proprietary dc bus system," said Bill Cratty, CTO and co-founder of Sure Power.
