Siemens Corp. (Munich, Germany) has named David Pacyna President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution Inc. (SPTD). He previously served as the vice president in charge of global business strategy for Siemens Westinghouse Power Corp. (SWPC, Orlando, FL). He succeeds Jan van Dokkum, who is leaving the company effective September 1, 2002.

"Dave has led a number of senior management and financial services roles within Siemens, including the design of SWPC business strategy, research and development, strategic inventory management, market analysis and forecasting, and investor relations," said Klaus Kleinfeld, president and CEO of Siemens. "In his new post, he will draw on his track record of success in the power business. That breadth of experience will be vital in the difficult US power transmission and distribution market."
