Plug Power Inc. (Latham, NY) announced an order for 35 GenCore® backup fuel cell systems from the company's distribution partner, Tyco Electronics Power Systems Inc., a part of the Tyco Electronics business segment. As in the previous order for 63 systems, the GenCore systems will be co-branded with both the Tyco Electronics Power Systems and Plug Power brand names, and are for deployment to the same major US-based telecommunications provider.
"This order brings our total GenCore sales to Tyco Electronics Power Systems' telecom customer to 98 year-to-date," said Chief Marketing Officer Mark Sperry. "On the strength of this order, we are approximately halfway towards our target of 300 GenCore orders for the year."
