The Sixth IASTED International Symposium on Power Generation and Renewable Energy Sources (PGRES 2002) will be held at the Marina Beach Marriott in Marina Del Ray, CA, May 13-15, 2002. The symposium will focus on the latest research in the field of renewable energy, efficient power generation, inverter technology, and regulation and deregulation.

PGRES 2002 is part of the Sixth IASTED International Multi-Conference on Power and Energy Systems (PES 2002), and will be held in conjunction with the Transmission and Distribution (TD 2002), Harmonics and Power Quality (HPQ 2002), and Power Systems Planning and Operation (PSPO 2002) Symposia.

The conference has technical co-sponsorship from the IEEE Power Electronics Society. The scope of PGRES 2002 includes the following topics: power generation, power plants, distributed generation, co-generation, generator protection and control, self-generation, micro-generators, parallel operation of generators, modelling and simulation of power plants, energy conversion, energy conservation, energy efficiency, energy and the environment, energy storage, batteries, portable power systems, energy-management systems, green power, solar power, photovoltaic energy, solar panels, wind energy, ocean energy, tidal power, thermal power, bio-energy, hydrogen energy, fuel cells, hybrid systems, electric vehicles, and nuclear fusion power.

Submissions are due January 15, 2002. Notification of acceptance is February 15, 2002. Registration and final papers are due April 1, 2002.
