O2Micro International Ltd. (George Town, Grand Cayman) was granted 14 claims under US Patent 6,349,386 for its Launch Key controller, which allows users to activate a portable computer and launch an application when the system is off or in a suspended state. The Launch Key controller conserves power by providing an alternative mode for system power to launch specific applications.
"This patented device allows O2Micro to further its expansion into next-generation power management products for mobile computers, such as AudioDJ," stated Reginia Chan, vice president of the IntelligentDJ Group at O2Micro.
