The State of New York Public Service Commission (NYPSC) has approved the ION 8000 Series line of intelligent energy meters for revenue-metering applications within the State of New York. Manufactured by Power Measurement (Victoria, BC), the ION 8300™, ION 8400™ and ION 8500™ devices are programmable, multi-function electricity meters suitable for monitoring energy transactions across New York's transmission and distribution grid.
Each device provides energy-management tools and communications options to help control the cost, quality and reliability of power. Each of the devices integrates measurements with power-quality analysis, alarming and control capabilities. Multi-port communications options and built-in Internet features enable each device to share billing and power system information with authorized users through onboard web pages and e-mail alerts.
