Mouser & Bias Power Unite to Deliver Powerful Design Solutions

March 29, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

Mouser Electronics, Inc. announced the formation of a global distribution agreement with Bias Power, a manufacturer of drop-in low power, universal input, ac-dc power modules and ruggedized LED drivers.

The new distribution agreement between Mouser and Bias Power spans internationally and marks Bias’ first partnership with a distributor of semiconductor and electronics with parts available online and via catalogs in multiple languages. Bias Power states that it manufactures highly efficient, high density ac-dc switching power supplies covering the 1/2 to 10W range. Based on patented designs incorporating a custom ASIC controller, the modules offer a complete, drop-in power solution for sensors, smart meters, lighting controls, wireless and power line communication, building automation and high-end LED fixtures.

Moreover, the agreement reinforces Mouser’s dedication of supporting design engineers at the earliest stages of product design by delivering innovative power solutions that feature universal input voltage, compact size, single or dual outputs that give flexibility in a variety of applications.

Keith Privett, Mouser Vice President of Electromechanical, Power & Test was quick to share, "Bias Power not only expands our impressive linecard of power supply solutions, it also means design engineers now have rapid access to the world’s smallest, micro-sized switching power supply for solving space and efficiency problems for their prototypes. Furthermore, designers can incorporate regulatory compliant power solutions and quickly address today’s low-power and standby power needs."

"Mouser’s unique focus on new product introduction will be an important asset in contributing to our company’s sales growth here in North America and around the globe," stated Bias Power’s President & CEO, Todd Hendrix. "Their strong ties to the design engineering community represents a perfect fit with our product line to accelerate time-to-market for new controls for energy management as well as enable a fast transition to high efficacy LED lighting."
