MTI MicroFuel Cells Inc. (Albany, NY), a subsidiary of Mechanical Technology Inc., announced that it has received required safety certifications from Underwriter's Laboratories Inc. (UL) and CSA International (CSA) for its Mobion™ micro fuel cell power packs for military and industrial markets.
The Mobion power packs are targeted for shipment by the end of 2004, and were manufactured by MTI Micro's manufacturing partner Flextronics (San Jose, CA). MTI Micro has worked closely with UL, and led the effort for UL's first-ever test requirements documentation for a micro fuel cell product. Additionally, MTI Micro has been granted CSA's Certificate of Compliance for its Mobion power pack. The CSA Certification applies to both US and Canadian markets.
