Millennium Cell Establishes New Manufacturing Production Line

January 18, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Millennium Cell Inc. has established a manufacturing capability for its Hydrogen on Demand fuel cartridges – a move that it hopes will broaden its business model to include commercial sales of standard products. The pilot production line, which will produce fuel cell cartridges for commercial applications, has been developed in collaboration with the Dow Chemical Company and the Edison Welding Institute. The partners helped select materials for key fuel cell components and developed the manufacturing techniques required.

Commenting on the new facility, Millennium Cell’s President Adam Briggs said that it would also help the company to fulfill orders from existing licensees. He stated, "This pilot line will enable the shipment of fuel cartridges to the state of South Carolina in mid-2007 and to other Jadoo customers later this year."

Millennium Cell already has an agreement to supply fuel cartridges to South Carolina as part of the Greater Columbia Fuel Cell Challenge, where they will be used in Jadoo fuel cell systems.
