Learn about Practical DC Building Power during Lightfair and Get Credit
The EMerge Alliance will offer an accredited course titled ‘DC- The Power to Change Lighting in Net Zero Energy Buildings’ at 11 a.m. on April 24 in the Spotlight Lounge during Lightfair 2013. This year’s Lightfair will be hosted April 23-25 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Course presenters will be; Brian T. Patterson, IEEE – Chairman, Emerge Alliance; General Manager, Bus. This United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and American Institute of Architects (AIA) accredited seminar-tutorial will provide a comprehensive overview of efficient, sustainable dc microgrids for use in net zero energy buildings. It will cover specific reasons and benefits for how dc microgrid technology impacts sustainable design objectives especially with regard to lighting. The presenters will provide specific descriptions of the design process and resources available to support design, specification and construction of sustainable dc microgrid systems. Finally, the course will cover specific case studies of existing installations and operating dc microgrids in various commercial buildings. Q&A will follow.
This 60 minute course/seminar will begin with an overview of sustainable dc power for buildings. It will include design considerations and examples and will close with an interactive question-and-answer period. The formal title of the course is, DCMicro101.
