November 19, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Following the recent acquisition of Ericsson Microelectronics AB (Sweden) by Infineon Technologies AG (Germany), the company’s dc/dc power modules activities have been established as a separate company, Ericsson Power Modules AB. Ericsson Power Modules will continue to design, develop and market dc/dc power modules to OEMs throughout the world.

The president of the new company is Håkan Österberg, former vice president and senior investment manager at Ericsson Business Innovation AB. Commenting on the advantages of the new company, Österberg said, "Ericsson Power Modules is an autonomous company with short lines of communication. Our aim is to provide flexible and responsive service to customers. At the same time, they will benefit from local service through our global sales force and from the reputation for exceptional reliability that our innovative products have long demonstrated."
