EnerSys Inc. (Reading, PA) announced the registration of its quality management system (QMS) to IS EN ISO 9001:2000. The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) performed an assessment of the QMS and verified system effectiveness in December 2001.
EnerSys President and CEO John Craig stated, “The certification that we, as a company, have achieved firmly demonstrates our overall system effectiveness involving all associates, from the top management team stemming down to the day-to-day operational level. EnerSys will continue to set the pace for quality in the industry in 2002. While achieving ISO 9001:2000 registration may be viewed as the final goal of some organizations, we view it as part of our continual improvement program, and as another step towards our ultimate goal of being the premier battery supplier of choice within the industry worldwide.”
