Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson announced that Aperture’s Board of Directors agreed in principle to Emerson’s offer to acquire 100% of the company’s share capital. Financial terms of the agreement will not be disclosed. The acquisition will become final once all Aperture shareholders have agreed to its terms, and the business will become part of Emerson Network Power.

It is claimed that Aperture, a global provider of software for managing the physical infrastructure of data centers, will extend Emerson Network Power’s leadership position in the global data center infrastructure market.

It is stated that the addition of Aperture to Emerson Network Power’s portfolio will complement and enhance Liebert products as data centers’ physical infrastructure rapidly becomes more complex as a result of increased demand for power and cooling coupled with technology advancements in IT hardware.

Specifically, it is claimed that the combination of Aperture’s VISTA® products and Emerson Network Power’s Liebert ac power, precision cooling and monitoring technologies will enable data center professionals to more easily manage complexity. Additionally, it is stated that data center managers will be better able to control vital operations and increase the availability of business-critical systems by implementing tools and technologies that help them gain visibility into the dynamics of the data center infrastructure.

"Emerson is a highly respected global company with an outstanding pedigree in data center technology solutions," said Bill Clifford, Chief Executive Officer, Aperture. "We would not have agreed to the acquisition if we did not genuinely feel that the combined company would be able to deliver significant value to our employees and to our joint customer base. Together, we will also be able to address new markets, such as the emerging demand among small and mid-size data centers for more sophisticated management solutions."

Bob Bauer, Group Vice President, Emerson, added, "During its 20-year history, Aperture has built up an impressive reputation as a trusted vendor of highly reliable and innovative data center infrastructure management solutions. Aperture’s vendor-independent VISTA products and its strong business relationship with IT decision-makers will help us to expand the Liebert brand presence into IT operations and better serve IT managers’ data center needs. Aperture will also expand our capability to provide real-time monitoring and optimize performance of the data center, which will help customers eventually control costs more effectively. On behalf of everyone at Emerson, I am very much looking forward to working with Aperture to continue to develop and deliver its world-leading technologies and services."
