June 30, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

E-One Moli Energy Corp. (Molicel), a global lithium-ion battery developer and manufacturer, announced that it will construct a new lithium-ion battery plant in Taiwan. Monthly production capacity will reach 12 million units.

The new plant is next to Taiwan’s 1st plant, located in the Southern Taiwan Science Park, and construction work is slated for completion by the end of 2009.

Currently, E-One Moli is working with strategic partners to co-develop the next-generation lithium-ion battery for transportation and electrical energy storage. The company has supplied lithium-ion batteries for world-wide car markers, such as BMW in Europe and some other companies in North America and in Asia.
