Delta Electronics Selected for 2011 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes
Delta Electronics announced it has been named to two of the prestigious 2011 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes – the DJSI World Index and the DJSI Asia/ Pacific Index. Delta states that it was also first in its industry in several of the index categories. According to Delta, selection to become a member of the DJSI is high international recognition for Delta’s continued commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes were launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmarks. The indexes are offered cooperatively by SAM Indexes and Dow Jones Indexes. Each year, they invite the world’s 2,500 largest companies, measured by free-float market capitalization, from the 57 sectors to report on their sustainability performance. The result of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment provides an in-depth analysis of economic, environmental and social criteria. The indexes serve as benchmarks for investors who integrate sustainability considerations into their portfolios, and provide an effective engagement platform for companies who want to adopt sustainable best practices.
In recent years Delta Electronics has been dedicated to fulfilling its corporate mission "To provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow", and it has made strategic efforts to strengthen human resources management, risk management, and quality management, all while fully promoting the development of its corporate sustainability. For this reason Delta received full marks from the DJSI in "Environmental Policy/Management System" and "Human Capital Development" and leading performance in "Brand Management", "Innovation Management", "Risk & Crisis Management", "Climate Strategy", "Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy", and "Occupation Health Safety".
