Ansoft Reports Fourth-Quarter Fiscal 2005 Results

Ansoft Corp. (Pittsburgh, PA) announced announced financial results for its fourth quarter of fiscal 2005 ended April 30, 2005. Revenue for the fourth quarter totaled $21.7 million, an increase of 22% compared to $17.8 million reported in the previous fiscal year's fourth quarter. Revenue for the fiscal year totaled $67.7 million, compared to $54.7 million reported in the previous fiscal year.

On a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, net income for the fourth quarter was $4.7 million, or $0.36 per diluted share, compared to GAAP net income of $2.8 million, or $0.21 per diluted share in the previous fiscal year's fourth quarter. On a non-GAAP basis, net income for the fourth quarter was $4.9 million, or $0.38 per diluted share, representing a 49% increase when compared to net income of $3.3 million, or $0.25 per diluted share in the previous fiscal year's fourth quarter.

On a non-GAAP basis, net income for the fiscal year was $10.4 million, or $0.80 per diluted share, representing a 130% increase when compared to net income of $4.5 million, or $0.34 per diluted share, in the previous fiscal year. On a GAAP basis, net income for the fiscal year was $9.4 million, or $0.73 per diluted share, compared to GAAP net income of $2.6 million, or $0.19 per diluted share in the previous fiscal year.
